Turtle Dungeon AI Update 2.0


Not as many major changes this time around as the first major update, but still very important to the progression of the game!

Enemy AI Part II: This time around I didn't make any crazy changes but it's good one! Enemies now have an alert state! This means that when an enemy first spots the player it will create a "!" above itself and pause for a moment, THEN chase the player. Before, the enemy would spot the player and immediately chase them, which was fine but this communicates to the player "I see you and I'm coming for you!" I also added a maximum detection radius to the enemies, so now they will not start to chase you if they are off screen. Again, this is to help the player notice when they are in trouble or about to be under attack.

The Door & Key: There is now floor progression in the game! I added a door on each floor with a unique enemy. There will only be one of these enemies on each floor and it will be carrying a key that unlocks the door to the next floor. So the player will have to hunt it down and head to the door to get to the next level. This gives the player something to aim for now instead of just running around shooting turtles and resetting the floor. In the future I may add different floor types/styles.

Pause Button: This is pretty straight forward, you can now press escape and pause the game! Next thing I'll be working on is a main menu/option menu so the player can click through to start the game and maybe change difficulty/key bindings, stuff like that.
